Castlewood Civic Association Love Your Block Project

Castlewood Civic Association

Castle Painting was thrilled that the Castlewood Civic Association (we also like their name! 😉 ) recently asked us to participate in a donation for their Love Your Block project. City of Atlanta Grant “Love your Block” is a grant offered by the City of Atlanta, for which Castlewood Civic Association applied and won the resources to makeover a pocket park by Morris Brandon school. They wanted to landscape the pocket park beside the teachers’ parking lot, the traffic triangle and the green space in front of the school. The Love Your Block project included adding stone paths, new hedges, planting bushes, installing trees, painting a sign and redesigning the triangle park in front of  the school. Love Your Block Project As part of the plan, residents of the community painted a large outdoor sign. Castle Painting donated the white outdoor paint for the volunteers to use to revamp the signage, which was previously covered with mold. Castlewood Civic Association But the grant isn’t just about money — a key requirement of the award is for Castlewood Civic Association’s community to come together for a day of service to improve their neighborhood — and that is what it was all about.
